Dragnet

Dragnet, the TV show (top), was just one of hundreds of times that the Los Angeles City Hall has been used as a filming location.
Guess Who
Recently while watching "Guess Who" (top), I instantly recognized Theresa’s (Zoe Saldana) favorite place to hang out. While the movie takes place in Virginia, the old cannon battery that they visited was the Battery Osgood-Farley at Fort MacArthur in the city of San Pedro. Just add fake street lights and Fort MacArther becomes a park in Virginia.
Fort MacArthur was established in 1914 to protect the L.A. Harbor. The two batteries were installed in 1919 and contained 14" guns. This small part of the fort is still very much intact and now houses a museum.
The sister battery to this one was used for the filming of "Pearl Harbor" (See my PH photos).
