It is said that to “save one life is to save the
world entire”. Mikhail Gorbachev brought
freedom to millions. In his moment of time, he
gave the world hope that peace was within our
grasp and liberty was for all. No other person
in this century has done so much for so many
others. He is the Man of the Century, the man
who changed the world.

In 1944, seventy-six Allied Airmen climbed
through a tunnel at Stalag Luft III, a tunnel
they had planned and dug. This is the true
story of the implication of Canadian soldiers,
a story of daring heroism and brutal revenge.
It is a testament to the ingenuity and
determination of the human spirit. Those
young Canadians, far from home, found a way
to continue to fight for what they believed in:
Freedom!

A prison chain gang digs two fresh graves for
men destined to be executed that night. As
time slips away for the murderers’ salvation,
the grave diggers’ mixed reactions to the grim
task split them apart and unravel the progress.
The supervising boss is obliged to act himself,
and lead the group through the awful task and
morally justify the indifferent nature of the
world.
