with new problems. This documentary

Alfred Pitkanen’s life has been forever
changed by the discovery of two letters written
sixty years ago, on the eve of his father’s
death. ‘Letters from Karelia’ unravels the
story of Aate Pitkanen, an idealistic Finnish-
Canadian who moved to Soviet Karelia in the
1930’s to live the Communist dream until
Stalin’s purges and World War II changed
everything.
Agfa Agfachrome film 1974

this one brings back memories, the orange box for the slides, the mailer… We’d have to pay extra for the half frame from the Pen FT. At some point I remember mounting my own, because some developing service or another stopped providing half frame slide mounts…
And I really wish I’d have saved some of those metal film canisters.
