Roshan Jamal grew up in Gujarat,India and
moved to Canada where she felt the Mosques
seemed to treat women like second class
citizens. She wanted to practise her religion as
it was in the Prophet Mohammed’s time,with a
strong stress on gender equality. With help
from Hassanali Lakhani a philanthropist, she
created the Noor Cultural Center, a place of
equality.
