‘Shipbreakers’ takes the viewer into the heart
of Alang, India, a vibrant shant-town where
40,000 people live and work – in the most
primitive conditions. Mittu, the newest recruit,
lost a brother to this work and is afraid to tell
his parents of his plans.

East Timor. One third of the population were
either murdered or starved to death, while the
world looked the other way. In 1999, the
Timorese choose independence in a UN
organized referendum, but Indonesian-armed
militants went on a rampage of killing and
